Meet the instructors
Jose Vasquez
Major League Strength & Conditioning Coach
- Jose Vazquez is entering his 16th season as the club’s major league strength and conditioning coach. He previously spent four seasons with the New York Mets, serving first as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coordinator (2002-2004) and later as the Director of Rehabilitation (2005).
- Prior to joining the Mets, Jose was the Sports Physical Therapist for The Therapy Center in Knoxville, Tenn. and Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tenn. from 1998-2001. He was also a co-founder of TNT Sports Specific Training in Knoxville in 1998.
- After earning second-team All-American honors at the University of Tennessee in 1992, Jose was selected by St. Louis in the 42nd round of the 1992 June draft. He played professionally for three seasons (1992-94) as an outfielder in the Cardinals organization and for the Northern League’s Duluth club. He was selected All-Dade County in baseball and football at Southwest Miami High School in 1988 and was all-state at Central Florida CC in 1989-90.
- Jose graduated from Tennessee with a BS degree in education in 1994 and received his Masters of Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. in 1998.
- He co-authored “Total Fitness for Baseball” with Jay Hoffman (Coaches Choice, 2008) and was a co-author of “Effect of Age on Anthropometric and Performance Measures in Professional Baseball Players” (Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, 2013).
- Jose is a Certified and Registered (CSCS-R) Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and was the treasurer for the PBSCCS for eight years (2007-2014). He was recognized by his peers (Professional Baseball Strength and Conditioning Society) with the Nolan Ryan Award as MLB Strength Coach of the Year in 2014.
- Jose attended the MLB Scouting Bureau scouting development program in October 2014.
- Jose and his wife of 26 years, Anne, reside in Mansfield with children Josannah (22), Helena (17), and Kian (10). Jose’s recreational interests include yoga, snowboarding, surfing, and lifting weights, and he has also earned a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Meet the Doctors
G. Todd Moore, D.O.
Dr. G. Todd Moore is board certified and fellowship trained in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. He specializes in all aspects of orthopedics with special interests in hip and knee arthroplasty, fracture care and pediatric orthopedics.
Kids are near and dear to his heart. He has a special love for and skill with newborns, toddlers and youth. His eyes light up when he describes with genuine enthusiasm how much he loves taking care of kids.
A recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award for Most Compassionate Doctor, Dr. Moore’s bedside manner is attentive and deeply compassionate. He approaches patient care and medical decisions as though he is making them for his own family. What is best for his patients is his top priority. Doctors send their own kids to Dr. Moore and that affirms his expert skills.
Dr. Moore has coached sports, started a mentoring program for middle schoolers, and is a lifelong athlete. Having played varsity football for the University of South Carolina, Dr. Moore relates to young athletes and mature ones, too.
A father of two beautiful children, Dr. G. Todd Moore is a dedicated, single father who is devoted to his daughter and son. He and his family live in Midlothian, Texas.
Dr. Prak Bhakta D.C., A.R.T.
Dr. Bhakta graduated with a Bachelors of Exercise and Sports Sciences from Texas Tech University and went on to receive a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker College of Chiropractic. He is certified in Active Release Technique, a state of the art method which targets soft tissue conditions. Dr. Bhakta has utilized his unique skills to provide chiropractic care on a wide scope ranging from mission work in India and Mexico to implementing specialized treatment at professional athletic events such as the Ironman competition.
Dr. Bhakta also has worked with MLB, NFL, NBA, NCAA, and youth athletes from Middle school to high school. Dr. Bhakta is a proud member of the Mansfield, TX community and is active in both the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce and MISD Education Foundation. By working closely with health care providers and other community members, Dr. Bhakta will continuously strive to provide a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach to your health care needs. Dr. Prak Bhakta has been in practice in Mansfield since 2008.
Dr. Jay Bhakta DC
Dr. Jay Bhakta grew up in a family that stressed the importance of hard work, dedication, and service. These qualities became engraved in him as he grew and ended up influencing his career path. Fortunately, he came across the chiropractic profession. After attending Texas Tech University, he began the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Parker University. While in school, Dr. Bhakta strived to learn many different approaches to enhance healing and improve the overall function of the body. Dr. Bhakta was accepted into the competitive Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center where he finished this last round of clinical rotations.
This allowed him to gain valuable clinical experience in diagnosing and treating complex conditions which included many health problems along with injuries and chronic pain. With chiropractic care at the core, he integrates different types of therapies (Fascial Distortion Model, soft tissue release techniques, kinesiology taping, exercise etc.) into treatments to maximize healing and function. Dr. Bhakta is very passionate when it comes to helping people become healthy and improving their overall quality of life.
